Labette County Emergency Assistance Center’s (LCEAC) Food & Hygiene Pantry provides families in need with access to food and hygiene products on a monthly basis in an effort to decrease food insecurity. Since January 2023, an increase of 32% of families have utilized LCEAC’s Food & Hygiene Pantry due to exceeding the SNAP income limit.

Since 1998, LCEAC has provided support for basic needs including food, prescription costs, emergency shelter, hygiene items and rent and utility assistance. LCEAC also distributes Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) USDA commodities. Additional organizations support LCEAC, including Aetna, United Way, Parsons State Hospital & Training Center and Parsons Area Community Foundation.

“The immediate goal is to provide food or necessary hygiene items to our neighbors in need. The secondary goal is to provide education and resources to programs for families to form a solid foundation for success.”
– Theresa Leonardo, Director
